Who we are
This website is run by Libélula Books, an independent publisher of multilingual stories for children (the Bella's World series), 607 Shelby St. Suite 758, Detroit, Michigan 48226, USA. Questions about this policy: hello@libelulabooks.com.
This policy explains what personal information the website collects, why, who else receives it and what choices you have.
Information you give us
The Contact page has two forms, one for organisations and one for families. When you send one, we receive:
- your name (or your organisation's name),
- your email address,
- your message,
- which of the two forms you used.
We use this information to read and answer your message. After you send it, we email you a short confirmation that we have received it. The website does not offer accounts, newsletters or other forms for visitors.
Information collected automatically
- Cookies and browser storage: the website only uses what it needs to work, for example to keep forms secure and to remember your language. Your shopping basket and your settings for Bella, the website guide, are kept in your own browser and are not sent to us. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.
- Protection against abuse: to stop forms from being misused, the website counts how often they are sent from the same internet (IP) address. These counts are kept for about 15 minutes and are not linked to your messages.
- Server logs: our hosting provider may keep standard technical records of visits, such as IP addresses and the pages requested.
The website does not use analytics or advertising cookies and does not build profiles of visitors.
Buying books
The shop shows our audiobooks and video books. When you start a checkout, the website records which books were in the basket and their total, without any information about you, and then sends you to the shop of our sales partner FlickRocket. FlickRocket handles your customer account, payment and access to the books you buy under its own privacy policy; we do not receive your payment details.
Previews and Bella's voice
- Video previews play in the player of our video provider, VdoCipher, which is loaded only when you press play. Like any website, VdoCipher receives your IP address and technical information from your browser when it shows the video.
- Bella's voice: Bella can read her messages aloud, using audio files we prepared in advance or the voices built into your browser. Some browsers process these voices on their own servers; only Bella's texts are read, never anything you type.
Who receives your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website, and only as far as they need it:
- Brevo sends the confirmation email after you use a contact form. It receives your name, your email address and the email itself, not your message.
- Our hosting provider stores the website and its database, including contact messages.
- FlickRocket and VdoCipher, as described above, when you choose to buy a book or watch a preview.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept in the website's database until a member of our team deletes them.
Security
The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Only Libélula Books staff with a password-protected account can read contact messages. No website can be completely secure, but we work to protect the information you send us.
International visitors
Libélula Books is based in the United States, and the website's data is stored with providers that may be located in other countries. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be processed there.
Children
Our stories are made for children, but this website is meant to be used by parents, teachers and organisations. Children should not use the contact forms. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it, by writing to hello@libelulabooks.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under the law.
Other websites
This website links to other websites, such as FlickRocket's shop. Their privacy practices are their own; please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its date.
